Infection Control
Infection control and universal precautions are essential to protecting both our patients and our team. Everyone benefits from rigorous safety protocols—you, your dentist, and the entire dental staff. At the core of a safe and trustworthy dental practice is transparency, and we encourage you to feel comfortable discussing these procedures with Dr. Patel at any time.
Our office strictly adheres to the infection control guidelines established by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our protocols include:
- Use of disinfectant hand soap
- Protective gloves and masks
- Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
- Sterilization of all instruments and equipment before each use
- Disposable, single-use materials whenever possible
We sterilize all reusable instruments, including dental handpieces, using an autoclave—a medical-grade device that eliminates bacteria and viruses through high-pressure steam and heat.
We believe that the best defense against disease is knowledge. The more you understand about our daily infection control measures, the more confident and comfortable you will feel in your care.
